Who Am I Presentation
The social classes I can relate to are African Americans, European Americans (Whites), and Nigerian Americans. I can relate to African Americans since I am an African American. I can relate to Whites and Nigerian Americans since I have worked intimately with both these racial and ethnic gatherings. ââ¬Å"The term African American alludes to people who are occupants of the U. S. A. , typically raised here, who are of African family, while the term Black is progressively broad and can allude to anybody of African parentage, including late immigrantâ⬠(Education. byu. edu, 2012). African Americans make up about 14% of the populace in the United States (Education. byu. edu, 2012). The progenitors of African Americans were brought to the Americas without wanting to and subjugated by Whites. They were coercively taken to Spanish and English settlements in America where they were oppressed and treated as inferiors. For over two centuries, African Americans experienced servitude and isolation however kept on having trust (Education. byu. edu, 2012). My precursors utilized Religion, for the most part Christianity, and Gospel music to assist them with adapting and disregard their languishing over a specific timeframe. Trusting in God and singing old Negro otherworldly melodies, gave them trust that one day they would be free and ready to live among and be equivalent to different races. Blacks were prohibited to go to indistinguishable schools from whites, utilize indistinguishable bathrooms from whites, ride the front of the transport, cast a ballot or go anyplace white individuals were. The battle for opportunity was a long and troublesome one. When the NAACP was framed in 1909, they intended to annul isolation and victimization blacks (ââ¬Å"Encyclopedia Britannica's Guide to Black Historyâ⬠, 2013). African Americans have come far from bondage days. Nobody would ave ever accepted that the United States of America would one day see a Black President chose for not one, however two terms. In spite of the fact that we have a progressed significantly, we despite everything have far to go. Preference separation despite everything exists on the planet today. Numerous individuals oppress Blacks in light of the generalizations that were made about them and the manner in which they are depicted on TV in the news. Blacks were generally known for being strict, cooking soul food, being athletic and singing. Today, Blacks are known for being hoodlums and brutal, being drug addicts and heavy drinkers, being poor, uneducated, jobless and unfortunate. Albeit these things exist among all races, it appears that they are progressively pervasive among Blacks. At the point when Blacks carry out violations, they are spread all around the news. In any case, when Whites or another race carry out a wrongdoing, it is stayed silent except if it is a prominent case. For instance, when the youthful multi year old Jewish kid, Leiby Kletzky, from Brooklyn was found in the cooler of another Jewish man from their own locale, the story was left hidden. Before the police found the boyââ¬â¢s body it was a prominent case, at that point out of nowhere when it was discovered to be one of their own sort, the story was no longer in the news. I have worked with Nigerian Americans for more than eleven years. I should state that my encounters with Nigerian Americans have not generally been acceptable. From what I have realized, they appear to be inconsiderate, they think they are sub-par compared to Blacks and Hispanics however they dread the Whites. The greater part of them are Catholic, they eat nourishments that appear to have a foul scent, and they communicate in their own language. I saw this as intriguing on the grounds that I turned out to be dear companions with two Liberian Americans and they appear to be very surprising from Nigerian Americans both in their appearances and their practices. Liberians appear to be well mannered, clean, and wonderful individuals. They just communicate in English, despite the fact that they have a substantial highlight when talking among one another in light of the fact that they talk exceptionally quick. Liberian ladies appear to be littler in height and dress exceptionally decent in American attire. Nigerian ladies are huge with enormous hands and feet, they seem darker, they wear their African garments regularly and they couldn't care less a lot about appearance. Most Africans don't believe themselves to be African Americans. They don't believe themselves or their precursors to be a piece of the subjugation time (ââ¬Å"Encyclopedia Britannica's Guide to Black Historyâ⬠, 2013). I generally accepted that everybody from Africa was the equivalent until I started working with them. A large portion of them appear to cherish fiery food, they eat entire fish with the head still on it, they love rice and they eat some fascinating food. Consistently, my activity has a social decent variety occasion where individuals everything being equal and races carry their nourishment for others to encounter. I love learning and attempting new things, so I see this occasion as extremely useful and accommodating in showing others various societies and convictions. It likewise permits everybody to become more acquainted with others for themselves which makes a more advantageous workplace. To the extent my predecessors being victimized, my incredible (xââ¬â¢s 4) grandma was assaulted by a slave driver and my fatherââ¬â¢s mother is blended in with Black And White races. My extraordinary (xââ¬â¢s 4) grandma was beaten and over and again assaulted. This is all the data my grandma gave me. My grandma and every one of her sisters and siblings are extremely, light and lighter looking with wonderful hair. I generally asked why and when I asked her she revealed to me the anecdote about her grandma and her grandmotherââ¬â¢s mother being assaulted during subjection by their White slave drivers. Customer Story World-Class Project Management with MeisterTask Business - Focus
Customer Story World-Class Project Management with MeisterTask Business - Focus Large-scale project management is never simple. When managing global projects with a large team, keeping everyone informed can present significant challenges. It requires everyone to have a clear picture of deadlines, responsibilities and project progression, even when working across different locations. In this customer story, Torsten Schlautmann, Head of HR, Controlling Administration at OPITZ CONSULTING, shares how their team of 450, based across Central and Eastern Europe, achieve this with the help of MeisterTask Business. OPITZ CONSULTING: A global team delivering world-class projects Describing themselves as a classic IT consulting company, OPITZ CONSULTING is a leading European specialist in custom-built digital applications. Consisting of a team of 450 and based across Germany and Poland, OPITZ CONSULTING delivers outstanding digitalization services to clients. Since launching in 1990, the OPITZ CONSULTING team have developed long lasting and successful business relationships with over 600 customers. This success can be largely attributed to the companys ability to deliver outstanding projects within the deadline and budget. OPITZ CONSULTINGs customers range from medium-sized companies to multinational enterprises. Impressively, over 2/3rds of the companies within the German stock index (DAX) now rely on services from OPITZ CONSULTING. The Challenge: Managing Collaborative Projects Globally With their team of 450 and a large number of concurrent, complex projects, the OPITZ CONSULTING team found they were facing a collaboration problem within their project management. âPreviously, many of our team members were using different project and task management tools separately, so nothing was shared and group projects would often have no central place from which to be managed,â Torsten Schlautmann, Head of HR, Controlling Administration from OPITZ CONSULTING shared. âWe needed a way to collaborate effectively across all projects and team members. As a result, our management team decided that weâd like to roll out the use of MeisterTask Business company-wide.â The Solution: Utilizing an Agile Tool for Effective Project Management When working on large-scale projects, itâs important to break down overall aims and goals into actionable tasks and lists. To achieve this, the OPITZ CONSULTING team use Kanban-style project boards in MeisterTask Business. With the Kanban methodology, a Software Sprint, for example, can be broken down into: To Do, In Progress and Done. All new ideas can go straight into the âTo Doâ section. This way, team members can simply go through the board and choose the tasks theyâd like to work on. A project manager can also do the same, assigning outstanding tasks to the most suited team member. Automated integrations Via product integrations, teams can set up time-saving automations to send data between MeisterTask and their other favorite apps. For example, want to ensure that all client requests are added as tasks on a project board? MeisterTask offers integrations with Slack, Gmail and Office 365 to make this happen. Discover MeisterTask Business Transparent Project Management for Large Teams When it comes to large-scale project management, project data must be shared with relevant team members, while remaining secure. With MeisterTask Business, the OPITZ CONSULTING team achieves this through a combination of transparent project boards and restricted roles and permissions: âWe use MeisterTask in many different ways at OPITZ,â Schlautmann shared. âHowever, primarily we use it for managing client projects collaboratively and transparently via the Kanban principle, sharing documents, deadlines, and feedback between all relevant team members.â With roles and permissions, exclusive to the MeisterTask Business Plan, project progress can be entirely transparent and secure for both internal colleagues and external stakeholders. Project member roles and permissions can be managed via the project settings, as project admins can assign different roles and editing permissions to each team member. With MeisterTask Business, there are four possible project roles: Administrators who have full administrative rights over a project, enabling them to add and exclude team members, as well as manage tasks and project properties Project Members who are able to manage tasks and add comments but are not able to manage project properties Commenters who are able to leave comments on tasks but are otherwise restricted from managing tasks or the project Read-only members who are only able to view the project and its tasks. With limited editing rights, the Commenters and Read-only roles are ideal for less senior members of staff, as well as external clients or stakeholders, who would like an overview of the project, without needing to manage tasks directly. Acquiring Clients with an Effective Lead Funnel With any consultancy business, a sales pitch must be well prepared for and bespoke in order to be effective. To achieve this, the sales team at OPITZ CONSULTING use MeisterTask Business to manage their client acquisition. âWe use MeisterTask on the sales teams, particularly where we have bigger sales pitches and leads. Via our sales pitch project board, we can move customers through from potential lead to acquired client,â Schlautmann shared. âFor this, we include details of the sales pitches within each customer task. To this end, each task will have all relevant documents, such as supporting materials, attached. We then add the date of the pitch as the task due date. Then we assign all relevant team members as âwatchersâ within the task, meaning theyre notified of all task updates. We also tag the tasks to specify the type of sale and whoâs involved. This way, our management team can have a visual overview of task progress and can filter pitches via relevant tags.â Onboarding a Team of 450 to a New Project Management Tool When onboarding large teams to a new product and workflow, itâs not uncommon for team members to have reservations. However, Schlautmann explains that getting the OPITZ CONSULTING team on board with MeisterTask Business was simple as they were able to quickly demonstrate how it would benefit the whole team. âWith the ability to import from Trello and Asana, which a few of our consultants were previously using individually, we found it simple to roll out MeisterTask company-wide,â Schlautmann shared. âIn order to quickly onboard the new staff members, we uploaded our list of users, including 450 team members, via a CSV file to MeisterTask. This invited each consultant separately and half of them are already using MeisterTask within their projects.â According to Schlautmann, team members have onboarded to MeisterTask Business quickly and simply, regardless of former technical abilities: âWhat we particularly like is the simplicity of use,â Schlautmann shared. âEven our non-technical team members were quick to onboard to MeisterTask. Our HR department, for example, all love MeisterTask, as itâs just so simple to use and quick to benefit from.â TIP: Find a tool with a simple, visual design Talking in his live workshop with Schlautmann, MeisterLabsâ VP for Sales, Oliver Huebler, described how this usability is central to the design of MeisterTask and continues to be a significant draw for large teams looking to roll out a collaborative tool company-wide: âOur aim at MeisterTask was to create a tool that every single employee can use, no matter the level of tech experience or knowledge. It shouldnt be daunting on a Monday morning to have a quick review of what the week ahead holds,â Huebler shared. âItâs hard to demonstrate quite how simple it is to manage projects with MeisterTask until users try the tool out for themselves. This is why we provide free pilots, so companies are able to try it themselves no strings attached.â OPITZâs number one tip for companies looking to manage large projects and teams: âMy tip would be to just give MeisterTask a try! A Critical Book Report on Lawrence Wrights the Looming...
A critical book report on Lawrence Wrights The Looming Tower. Introduction The September 11th terrorist hijackings and attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon caught the United States largely by surprise. Once the dust had settled, and the shock and horror of such an unprecedented event had waned, the American public began to ask questions. Names such as Osama bin Laden, countries such as Afghanistan, and organizations such as Al-Qaeda were brought into the publics consciousness for the first time. Through newspapers, talkback radio and television programs the nation asked Ãâwhy do they hate us so much? Others, such as those in the government and public service, asked Ãâwhat could we have done to have prevented this? It isâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Wright is unmatched in his intimate insights into the lives of the key players, from bin Ladens relationships with his wives, to ONeals turbulent personal life. It is with this immense detail, that the author persuasively argues his two main contentions. Why did Al-Qaeda attack the United States? Wright offers a rather complex answer to the burning question of why such a horrific terrorist attack occurred. He seems to draw certain elements from Samuel Huntingtons influential ÃâClash of Civilizations thesis. Huntington contends that the cultural distinctions between people lie at the root of most conflict in the post-cold war world. Therefore, the West is despised by the Islamic world, not because of ideological, political or economic factors, but for cultural reasons. Wright also draws heavily from Barbers ÃâJihad vs. Mcworld theory, which argues that the widespread Western belief in the universality of its own values and political system, combined with the unstoppable force of globalization, antagonizes the Islamic civilization and spawns tribal forces of resistance, spurred on by their own fierce religious convictions. Wright illustrates the ÃâCivilization Clash through the experiences of Sayyid Qutb. He portrays Qutb as being overwhelmed by the materialism

( Lucente 95 ) Ototoxic ( harmful to the ear ) drugs can do impermanent and sometimes lasting damage of audile nervus maps. Certain drugs like acetylsalicylic acid in big adequate doses may do pealing in the ears and so a impermanent lessening in hearing that ceases when the individual stops taking the drug. Quinine can hold a similar consequence but may do lasting damage of audile nervus maps in some instances. Certain antibiotics, such as streptomycin and fradicin may do lasting harm to audile nervus maps. Susceptibility to auditory nerve harm from ototoxic drugs varies greatly among persons. In most instances, the vestibular nervus is non affected. Streptomycin affects the vestibular nervus more than it affects the auditory nervus. ( Lucente 89 ) Skull breaks and concussions from a terrible blow on or to the caput can impair the operation of the auditory and vestibular nervousnesss in changing grades. The greatest hearing loss arises when a break of the skull passes through the maze of the interior ear, wholly destructing its map. The consequence of noise exposure on one # 8217 ; s hearing depends on the strength and continuance of the noise. The effects may be impermanent or lasting. A individual exposure to an highly intense sound, such as an detonation, may bring forth a terrible and lasting loss of hearing. Repeated exposures to sounds in surplus of 80 to 90 dBs may do gradual impairment of hearing by destructing the hair cells of the interior ear, with possible subsequent devolution of nervus fibres. The degree of noise produced by stone music bands normally exceeds 110 dBs. The noise generated by farm tractors, power mowers, and snowmobiles may make 100 dBs. In the United States, statute law requires that workers exposed to sound degrees greater than 90 dBs for an eight-hour twenty-four hours be provided some signifier of protection, such as earplugs or earmuffs. Persons differ in their susceptibleness to hearing loss from noise exposure ; because hearing loss typically begins at the higher frequences of 4,000 to 6,000 Hz, the effects of noise exposure may travel unnoticed until the hearing loss spreads to the lower frequences of 1,000 to 2,000 Hz. Inhalation of carbogen, a mixture of 5 per centum C dioxide and 95 per centum O for 20 proceedingss will speed up recovery of hearing if administered within a few hours after inordinate noise exposure. ( Lucente 90 ) Labyrinthitis is the redness of the maze of the interior ear. This is caused by infections such as meningitis, pox, acute otitis media and mastoiditis, or chronic otitis media and cholesteatoma ( A complication of chronic otitis media ) . ( Infomedical ) Cholesteatoma can make negative force per unit area in the in-between ear such that a mass consisting of ceratin and cuticle is drawn into the in-between ear through a pierced tympanum. Cholesteatoma typically erodes the mastoid bone and causes damage the bonelets ( three little castanetss of the in-between ear ) . ( Infomercial ) Loss of both equilibrium and hearing occurs in the affected ear. Prompt antibiotic intervention sometimes arrests the harm and allows for the possibility of partial recovery of the map of the interior ear. ( Infomedical ) An acoustic neurom a is a benign tumour that grows on the auditory nervus near the point where it enters the maze of the interior ear. The tumour causes gradual and progressive loss of auditory and vestibular nervus maps on one side. Finally the tumour grows out into the encephalon pit, doing concerns and palsy. If it is non removed, sightlessness and decease may ensue. Fortunately, acoustic neuroma normally can be diagnosed early by magnetic resonance imagination ( MRI ) and removed before it has serious effects. ( Lucente 151 ) M? Ni? rhenium # 8217 ; s disease, besides called endolymphatic edemas, is a reasonably common upset of the maze of the interior ear that affects both the vestibular nervus, with attendant onslaughts of dizziness, and the auditory nervus, with damage of hearing. It was first described in 1861 by a Gallic doctor, Prosper M? Ni? rhenium. It is now known that the symptoms are caused by an surplus of endolymphatic fluid in the interior ear. The diagnosing is made from the repeating onslaughts of dizziness, frequently with sickness and emesis, damage of hearing with a deformation of sound in the affected ear that fluctuates in grade, and a sense of comprehensiveness or force per unit area in the ear. The cause of the surplus of endolymphatic fluid is non ever known, although in many instances it consequences from faulty operation of the endolymphatic canal and pouch, the constructions that usually reabsorb endolymphatic fluid from the interior ear. Allergic reactions to certain nutrients may besides do the disease. The intervention of M? Ni? rhenium # 8217 ; s disease is directed toward happening the cause of the surplus of endolymphatic fluid in order to command it. If medical intervention does non alleviate the perennial onslaughts of dizziness, surgery may be necessary. ( Lucente 150-151 ) Presbycusis is the gradual diminution of hearing map that consequences from aging. It is similar to other aging procedures because it occurs at different ages and at different rates among the population. As a individual ages, there is a gradual loss of cochlear hair cells, ensuing in bit by bit reduced and finally lost hearing. Hearing is reduced at the highest hearable frequences ( around 20,000 Hz ) and so increasingly for sounds of lower frequences. Normally the slow diminishing of hearing does non get down until after age 60. The affected single notices increasing trouble in hearing sounds of high pitch and in understanding conversation. Correction of a nutritionary lack of Zn, coenzyme Q10, or perchance vitamin A may stabilise the progressive hearing loss. The physician must do certain that the person does non hold a correctable damage, such as accrued cerumen, secretory otitis media, or stirrup arrested development by otosclerosis, as portion of the trouble. An electrical heari ng assistance is of limited aid to some, while others find that a hearing assistance makes voices louder but less clear and hence is of small aid. ( Lucente 464-465 ) The kid born deaf or with a terrible hearing damage can non get address by the normal procedure but must go to particular categories or a school for the deaf to be taught address and lip-reading. Most of these kids have leftovers of the sense of hearing that can be utilized in their schooling by the usage of AIDSs to magnify sound. The kid with a moderate or mild hearing damage is able to get address independently but a little more easy than the kid with normal hearing, while speech-correction direction is normally required to better enunciation. Cochlear implants can be considered for kids and grownups with a entire absence of hearing or hearing loss so profound that hearing AIDSs are non helpful. Implants make it possible for a deaf kid to develop address and let a deaf grownup to pass on more efficaciously. ( Www.deaf.com ) Progresss in hearing-aid engineering have served to increase the proportion of hard-of-hearing persons who can profit well from elaboration. Choice of an appropriate hearing assistance for persons with sensorineural ( or nerve-type ) hearing loss may be hard and time-consuming. Research has demonstrated repeatedly, nevertheless, that the ability of hearers with sensorineural hearing loss to understand address at colloquial degrees frequently can be enhanced significantly by usage of an appropriate hearing assistance. For those persons whose hearing loss causes terrible deformation of address, usage of a hearing assistance in combination with lip-reading may increase the sum of address the person can understand through lip-reading entirely. On the other manus, choice of a hearing assistance is frequently a simpler affair for hearers with hearing loss of the conductive type. Careful choice is necessary to guarantee that maximal apprehension of address is gettable in noisy environments. The hard-of-hearing person should confer with with trained professionals such as audiologists, who are trained in measuring the benefit derived from the usage of a hearing assistance. Lip-reading, which really entails attentive observation of the full facial look instead than the motions of the lips entirely, is used even by individuals with normal hearing who, in the presence of background noise, need these ocular hints to supplement hearing. As hearing begins to be impaired, lip-reading, which might better be termed speech reading, becomes progressively valuable and of import. The hard-of-hearing person who knows a spoken linguistic communication can larn lip-reading by careful observation of a talker of that linguistic communication. Formal direction in lip-reading by a instructor separately or in categories is necessary for those hard-of-hearing individuals who have non acquired cognition of a spoken linguistic communication. The greater the loss of hearing, the more indispensable lip-reading becomes, for which good lighting is indispensable. The hard-of-hearing may besides be taught a mark linguistic communication, such as American Sign Language, as a communications tool. Speech-correction direction, needed for the immature with serious grades of impaired hearing, besides becomes necessary for the grownup who all of a sudden loses all hearing in both ears. Without the monitoring consequence of hearing one # 8217 ; s ain voice, address Begins to deteriorate and to get the level, toneless quality of the profoundly deaf. Deafness was one time thought of a disease that would go forth the person as a hermit because of their missing the ability to pass on with society. Medicine has made great sums of advancement in naming and handling hearing upsets, while other have helped to better the quality of life for the deaf today through deaf civilization. Should school holidays be shortened or lengthened Essay Example
Should school holidays be shortened or lengthened Essay School holidays are a great time when students get time off classrooms to relax and ponder over the previous semesterââ¬â¢s work.à Holiday time is a very important time for a student.First of all, holidays are the only time when a student is free to perform personal tasks.à Usually the curriculum is so intense that at school, a student cannot afford to do personal activities such as doing oneââ¬â¢s hobbies.à For example, although there is time for sports in school, it is limited and for a talented student who would love to exploit his/her talent in, music, art or sports the time is not enough for thatà Some students have talents which the need to nurture for example some have musical talents, acting or sports.à The school environment is very controlled to allow for potential exploitation.à If holidays are prolonged students with special talents can exploit such talents during the holidays.à This time can also be used for learning some new skills such as com puters, playing musical instruments or learning foreign languages.à Therefore prolonging holidays would give a talented student for example, ample time to practice and perfect the skill. The prolonged holidays are an opportunity for college students to get attachments and internships during the holiday.à Employees do not like offering internships for short periods and even if they do, it is not very beneficial for a student to only stay in the work environment for barely 2 months.à If the holidays are lengthened, students benefit from the work experiences.à à à It is easier to find a job on long holidays than short ones, especially for college students some of whom pay their own tuition fees and therefore need enough time to work and save enough.à Again if students are exposed to the job environment, in terms of attachments and part-time jobs, they are more likely to secure jobs later due to the experience gained prior to graduation (Bolton, 1999).According to (Gor don, 1981) the human brain and body requires rest and relaxation in order to recuperate especially after hard work.à Evidently the education system has placed a heavy work load on todayââ¬â¢s students.à Therefore, enough rest for students is not only good but it is necessary.à The current holiday duration is not sufficient, given the fact that students spend a lot of time doing academic work before schools close. à Therefore, they need enough time to relax, and this is only possible if holidays are prolonged.à According to (Gordon, 1981) on average, human beings need 8 hours of sleep daily.à However, with very busy academic schedules, pressure to hand in assignments, as well as balancing between academics and extra-curricular makes it impossible for majority of the students to relax when schools are open.à Only during the holidays can most students afford to sleep for about 7-8 hours.à Therefore it is necessary to lengthen holidays.Linda, (1990), notes that people who lack enough relaxation and rest are more likely to fall ill than those who rest for enough durations.à Research has shown that lack of rest and relaxation can significantly slow down an individualââ¬â¢s thinking capacity as well as the concentration span (Bolton, 1999).à Other effects of lack of enough rest are bad moods, impatience and stress.Lengthened holidays afford enough time for learners to improve personal relations.à Relationships require time to build and to fortify.à Therefore, students need that valuable time with their parents.à This is not possible during school days due to the fact that some students are boarders and can only spend quality time with parents during the holidays.à Therefore the holidays should be prolonged.à School going children need mentors and the best mentors are usually the parents in that, they have been with the children for long enough and they can better understand them.Students have other relationships apart from that with family members.à For instance, they have boyfriends and/or girlfriends whom they do not often meet during school days.à Therefore, the best time for the students to have quality time is during holidays and therefore the holidays should be long enough to allow the students enough time for interactions. There are advantages of shortening holidays. By shortening the holidays the students have less time to engage in undesirable behaviour and indiscipline.à Holidays can be the worst time for students who get the chance to meet their peers.à Peer pressure can lead many children to engage in dangerous activities such as substance misuse, irresponsible sex and unwanted pregnancies.à All these result from peer pressure and the longer these peers are allowed to stay together, the greater the risks of engaging in self-destructive behaviour.à Idleness can also cause people to engage in crime and even enter into early marriages.à It is better to shorten the ho lidays to avoid all these dangers associated with prolonged holidays. The contention that prolonged holidays give students enough time to relax is mistaken.à Instead of using long holidays to relax, the students engage in activities which make them disoriented and very fatigued such that when schools reopen, students take weeks to regain form.à School dropout rates will increase if students are going to be prolonged. The kind of activities, which students engage in during holidays are dangerous and prolonged holidays would mean that when schools open, a lot of them would end up in juvenile prisons due too engaging in criminal activities (Edward, Berge, 1996).à Therefore the students would never use the prolonged holidays to relax and reduce stress but rather to cause more trouble. Most parents are not at ease when the children are around. They wish for schools to open since most children especially teens tend to show defiance to parents.à Allowing lengthened holidays woul d lead to more conflicts in the family.à The lengthened holidays would mean the students would spend more time with girlfriends or boyfriends something which can cause them to misbehave or influence one another negatively.à Also the much time allowed by lengthened holidays can lead to friends influencing one another in a negative manner and a good number may end up in pre mature marriages and pregnancies.ConclusionThere is a need to prolong the holidays as the merits of lengthened holidays far much outweigh the demerits shortening the holidays. The holidays need to be prolonged to offer students enough time for personal activities, for relaxation and leisure, for family time and to take participate in hobbies.
